🎶 St. Landry Parish Honor Band Highlights 🎶 The St. Landry Parish Honor Band was held on Saturday, February 1, at the Opelousas Senior High School Auditorium. This special event showcased the top band students from every middle and high school in the parish, with an incredible guest performance by the Lawtell Recorder Group! The event kicked off with a Friday evening rehearsal, leading to an outstanding public performance on Saturday, where each group displayed their talent and hard work. 🎼 Congratulations to our MACA students who represented us with pride: High School: Jalacy P., Kaydie O., Alyssa T., Gabriella H., Savannah T., Bailey R., Ladarrian R., Roman C. Our first acknowledgment, by our JAG student Lauren B., is Susie King Taylor, the first African American army nurse. She bravely served during the Civil War, providing care to wounded soldiers despite the racial barriers of her time.
