Parent and Family Engagement Action Plan 

1. Students selected for Title 1 Learning Center. 

Parent letter to notify parents of selection to attend the Learning Center. 

• Progress monitoring within the Learning Center with the use of Dibels. 

• Progress monitoring by classroom teachers through assessments. 

• Progress reports issued mid-nine weeks (4 times per year). Report cards issued every nine weeks (4 times per year). 

2. The school will involve parents in other activities to enhance their child's 

education. 

Teacher Meet & Greet held at the opening of the school year. 

Come Learn with Me is held twice a year. Parents participate in an interactive lesson with the classroom teacher related to the curriculum 

of the content. 

• Special Celebrations are held every quarter. Parents are invited to celebrate the positive behavior and other achievements related to improvements in the classroom. 

3. Title 1 staff development related to the implementation of iReady and 

Amplify. 

4. In relationship to the six types of involvement, East Elementary is 

addressing each type in the following ways: 

• Parenting - Helping Children Learn newsletters are distributed to 

parents. 

• Communicating with families - Use of Thrillshare, weekly and monthly newsletters, and a monthly parent calendar to notify parents of 

important classroom lessons and school activities. 

• Volunteering - Families are involved as volunteers in Picture Day, Santa Pictures, Book Fair, and fundraiser collection and delivery. 

• Learning at Home - Parents are involved in student learning through the use of student planners and weekly teacher newsletters which provide lesson guidance. 

· Decision Making - Parents are involved in school decisions such as the re-writing of the school's vision and mission statement. Also, a Parent Action Team meets to discuss areas of growth to campus and the instructional processes 

• Collaborating with the Community -

The Eunice Firemen visited the students and provided fire safety training. 

Dads with Kids group visits to promote parental involvement and assist with promoting academics by donating pizza to students who have reached honor roll. 

Donations from St. Anthony's Catholic Church with annual Christmas gifts for students. 

Eunice News promotes student growth through publication of student events and awards in the bi-weekly editions of the paper.
