In an effort to allow students to learn COVID-19 procedures and expectations, St. Landry Parish Schools will begin school using a staggered entrance.
All students with a physical address that ends in 0,2,4,6,or 8 will attend school on Wednesday, August 18th and stay home on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
All students with a physical address that ends in 1,3,5,7 or 9 will attend school on Thursday, August 19, 2021 and stay home on Wednesday, August 18th.
All students will attend school on Friday, August 20, 2021.
As the start of the 2021-2022 School Year approaches, we'd like to highlight the Faces of Grand Coteau Elementary School. This week, Principal Singleton has stepped into the spotlight. Welcome him into the Grand Coteau Community!

OPELOUSAS, LA -- Due to forecasted precipitation causing possible hazardous road conditions and widespread flooding parish-wide, all schools and head start centers will dismiss early today, May 18, 2021. The overall safety of our students and employees necessitates the early dismissal of schools.
Dismissal times are as follows:
SLATS/Alternative - 1:30 PM;
MACA/BioMed - 1:40 PM;
High School/Junior High - 2:00 PM;
Head Start - 2:00 PM;
North Central/Palmetto - 2:00 PM;
Elementary/Middle Schools - 2:20 PM - 2:40 PM (This is dependent on bus arrival from first routes.);
*Car riders should contact the school for pick-up times.
We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the closing of schools.

This year the St. Landry Parish School Board will host a summer learning program for children in grades K through 8, providing not only Language Arts and Math tutoring in a small group setting but also enrichment experiences that will enable students to excel in the 2021- 2022 school year. Students will have opportunities to take virtual field trips, learn about science and technology, engage in social living projects, play sports, and develop an appreciation for art, theater, music, and more.
The 4-week program will be offered June 7th through July 1st.
Students will be offered transportation to and from the program, and meals will be provided.
